Holiday Cheer!

I must admit I am quite excited about this holiday season. It is far different then any others I have ever had because guess where I am, yes you got it in North Carolina. The beauty is just breathtaking this time of year. You can hear the business of the city during the day and enjoy the quietness at night. I remember a time when I could see all the stars up in the sky and you know what, you can actually see it here and enjoy its sparkle ( without looking at buildings and skyscrapers) . By the way did anyone see that eclipse?

Well I am enjoying my first experience of the Christmas holidays in south. I do however miss the New York City lights, camera, action feeling of the holiday season but maybe a new experience is not so bad. Here is what I intend to do: spread lots and lots of holiday cheer, sing my favorite Christmas songs with friends, find new places to venture off too, and eat some really really good'ol fashion southern food. I mean the kind of southern food that's soo good that it puts you into a happy coma LOL

On a more important note, I will also be taking time to ponder the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you baby Jesus for being born. He truly is the gift to all man and the reason for the season. Have you taken the time to ponder that too??

Sometimes I think about how television has depicted the holidays and over the years it has become very commercialized. When I was a growing up, I used to see so many commercials about Jesus and how He is the reason for the season and Merry Christmas all over the TV screen. Now I just see yule logs and tons of commercials for shopping specials that you'll won't want to miss because heaven forbid you don't make it there at 4am when they open. Whats really sad is that you rarely hear Merry Christmas anymore just "Happy Holidays". What do you think about that?

Now for some thought proving questions for you LOL ... How has the progression of the yesteryear's concerning the holidays affected you? What do you think?

Well, these are my thoughts about it but to end on a happy note, what are you doing for Christmas and what's cooking in your kitchen?

Getting back on the saddle sort of speak...

Its been two years since I have written a blog. OK call me slacker but I have had a lot going on. Well there is no time like the present to start right? Here goes.. I would like to start off by saying thank you friends! Great encouragement always gets ya fingers in motion and your mind going.

I have found that horse (writing) that I can climb back on again. For some reason people keep telling me that I should write a book, so I said to myself "I'll blogging again". They say its like riding a bike you never forget how to but sometimes life's circumstances can make you not want to try again. This time I am not afraid...

I have decided to get back on that horse and ride! Let the wind take my words and see where they float and who knows maybe it might just land and encourage you...

On your mark, get set, go!
